NEW for 2012 – all PMDS /including scooters except group 3 complex rehab chairs will go on pre-pay review in 7 states –CA/FL/IL/TX/NC/MN/ & NY. Prepay is BAD for the industry — see AAH homecare and industry comments on the US Rehab home page — the pre-pay review will last from 3 to 9 months — this was going to be on ALL but CMS came back and changed to maybe 60% will be reviewed.
The pre-pay will be completed in a staggered series for different states and then prior authorization will be implemented. The full demonstration will be for 3 years. Once the pre-pay has been completed.
Prior Authorization — good for all
Please contact your legislators and let them know this will definately deny access to needed individuals and cause loss of jobs and close down small providers. Pre-pay means a delay of several months for payment on your claims (this will be first month review only on capped rental)

Adding Licensure information to your NSC information
The supplier can send the license to the NSC with a signed cover letter by the authorized or delegated official. The full 855s is not necessary. Now if they are adding a new state where they will be providing services, they will need to complete the appropriate sections of the 855S including the products/services in section 2 and section 4 requesting the state(s) they intend to serve.
