The 2018 AAHomecare Legislative Conference wrapped up on Thursday afternoon after two busy days on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Providers and state associations from across the country gathered to continue to push for support of H.R. 4229 and other DME and CRT legislation.

Members of VGM’s executive team, including CEO Mike Mallaro; Clint Geffert, president of VGM & Associates; and Mike Kloos, president of VGM Insurance Services, made the trip to our nation’s capital alongside VGM Government Relations’ John Gallagher, Mark Higley, and Tom Powers.

The VGM team was able to meet with many industry champions in Congress to show the industry’s appreciation for their efforts and to gather additional support for DME legislative efforts.

Moving forward, follow up is key. If you attended the conference, it is important to send your member of congress and their staff a follow-up email thanking them for their time. Also, supply them with the data and resources that were spoken about during the meeting.

The August recess is just around the corner! Consider hosting your member of Congress or Senators in your office. If you need any assistance reaching out to their office or planning for a meeting, please reach out to the VGM Government Relations team.
