Breaking News about Next Year’s Heartland Conference

Posted on in VGM News, Heartland 2017

Heartland Conference 2018 will be held later in June, and it will be a day shorter.

Next year’s Heartland Conference will be held June 25-27. That’s Monday-Wednesday instead of Monday-Thursday. The conference will be shortened in response to many member requests, and the move to later in June is to accommodate other industry conferences and graduation seasons around the country.

VGM Continues to Invest in the Cedar Valley

VGM was born in 1986 and, true to our late founder Van G. Miller’s wishes, we have called Waterloo home ever since. Waterloo is part of a seven-county area known as the Cedar Valley, named after the river that flows through some of the most fertile farmland in the world.

We continue to invest in our hometown and surrounding communities. For example, by the time you read this blog post, we will be very close to 900 associates strong, the majority of whom are among the almost quarter of million Iowans who call the Cedar Valley home.

If you’ve toured our headquarters this week, you’ve noticed the physical expansion of VGM. We are blessed to be employee-owners of a company that continues to diversify its business as we strive to provide the best possible products and services to the customers we serve. The growth of several divisions of VGM – HOMELINK; VGM Fulfillment; VGM Insurance Services; VGM Club, our member service organization dedicated to the golf and hospitality industries; and VGM Client Rewards, our member service organization dedicated to the restaurant industry -- necessitated additional office and warehouse space. We are nearing completion of these expansions, which include three new levels of office space on our main campus.

Our Fulfillment Center has undergone a significant expansion to increase capacity and efficiency, thereby allowing us to accommodate growth of our members’ sleep businesses at a low cost to them.

And, we’d like to show you an expansion project that is located about 10 miles southeast of our main campus. The VGM Farm, which sits just north of La Porte City, is a place we use to host meetings and events and serves as a guesthouse for visitors. Van loved to host visitors at his home, particularly during Heartland week. The Farm helps us keep his legacy alive by providing a hospitable venue to host impactful experiences for our customers, employee-owners, and others visiting VGM’s hometown. We hope you’ll accept our invitation to join other Heartland attendees as our guests for Dinner at the Farm tomorrow night following the conclusion of the conference. A relaxing, home-cooked meal served family style will be a great way to unwind following a week of learning.
