In the mail: VGM and the consortium of industry experts on competitive bidding have put together a mailer that all DME suppliers will be receiving in the next couple weeks. This pamphlet will direct any potential bidders to the consortium website for further education, including instructions on how to use the bid calculator that is housed on the website. A special thanks to VGM’s Strategic Imaging team for the printing and mailing these pamphlets.

Mark and other industry experts have committed to speaking at many upcoming state association conferences about the new program, as well. Click here to view information about your state’s association.

CMS is also offering a series of webcasts on the competitive bidding program. Below is an announcement from CMS about the series.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is launching a series of three webcasts as part of its education program to assist bidders and sureties on key components of the Round 2021 bidding process.

May 14, 3–4 p.m. ET – Bid Surety Bond and Lead Item Pricing
May 21, 3–4 p.m. ET – Preparing and Submitting Financial Documents
May 28, 3–4 p.m. ET – Registering and Submitting a Bid

While we will be accepting questions during the webcast, we encourage you to submit your questions in advance to [email protected] with “Webcast Question” in the subject line. Your questions do not need to be limited to the topics included in the webcasts but should pertain to Round 2021. We also encourage you to visit the Competitive Bidding Implementation Contractor (CBIC) website for numerous tools and resources on bid surety bonds (e.g., a bid surety bond template and FAQs), lead item pricing (e.g., a fact sheet and calculator), required financial documents, and much more. A copy of each webcast and responses to questions will also be posted on the CBIC website.

Registration for the Bid Surety Bond and Lead Item Pricing webcast can be completed by clicking here and entering your information in the required fields. Other information such as resources and audio requirements are also on the registration page. Registration for the other two webcasts will provided at a later date.

As a reminder, the CBIC is the official information source for bidders and bidder education. CMS cautions bidders about potential inaccurate information concerning the DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program posted on websites other than the CBIC website. Bidders that rely on this information in the preparation or submission of their bids could be at risk of submitting a non-compliant bid.

If you have questions or need assistance, please call the CBIC customer service center at 877-577-5331 between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. prevailing Eastern Time, Monday through Friday.
