Although Heartland Conference is approximately six months away, organizers have officially begun the process of recruiting speakers for the industry’s premier education event.
With more than 15 different education tracks to fill, conference organizers are looking for presenters to offer their expertise on a variety of topics including retail, billing and reimbursement, executive, operations, sleep and respiratory, rehab and legislative to name a few.
“Heartland’s diverse educational program is designed to ensure that attendees leave each session equipped with effective strategies to achieve operational excellence,” said Sara Laures, VGM’s vice president of Special Projects and Heartland Conference chairperson. “We’re looking for dynamic presenters who offer unique topics and how-to sessions that provide takeaways our attendees can implement within their business.”
Every VGM division plays a role in organizing and implementing the four-day conference; however, VGM Education is tasked with developing and implementing the educational components, including recruiting speakers.
“Each year we strive to build upon our extensive portfolio of speakers,” said Laura Taylor, VGM’s education services coordinator. “In 2016, out of 96 speakers, 47 of them were presenting for the first time at Heartland. Our vetting process is important to ensure our guests receive relevant, high-quality content that enhances their education and can spark innovative ideas.”
Themed “Where Community Meets Opportunity,” the 2017 Heartland Conference will take place June 12-15 in Waterloo, Iowa, corporate headquarters of VGM Group, Inc. Attendees include HME and home care industry experts as well as health care professionals working in a wide variety of roles and with all levels of experience.
“Speaking at Heartland Conference is more than sharing your expertise to attendees,” said Laures. “It truly is an experience that offers presenters numerous opportunities to network with our members and vendors, other presenters, as well as VGM associates.”
