Heartland Highlight: CMS, SBA, and Medicare Contractors Panel Discussion

Posted on in Education and Events

One of the several informative and impactful seminars occurring at VGM’s 2018 Heartland Conference will be the panel discussion with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Small Business Administration, and Medicare contractors.

This event will provide an excellent opportunity to speak directly with CMS Competitive Acquisition Ombudsman Tangita Daramola, SBA Regulatory Fairness Deputy Ombudsman C. Natalie Lui Duncan, and several Medicare contractor representatives. Contractor representatives scheduled to appear include Emily Barnes of C2C Innovative Solutions Inc., Dr. Janet Lawrence of C2C Solutions Inc., Paula Berriche of Noridian, Cindy White of Noridian, and Liz Daniels of CGS Administrators LLC.

Heartland Conference will be held June 19-21 in VGM’s hometown of Waterloo, Iowa. The panel discussion will take place Wednesday, June 20 from 3:45-5:15 p.m. at the Waterloo Convention Center at Five Sullivan Brothers Plaza.

Great Chance to Meet Face-to-Face

“This is YOUR opportunity to bring the stories of how the industry regulations, reimbursements, and audits are affecting your business,” said Ronda Buhrmester, VGM reimbursement specialist, who, with Mark Higley, vice president of VGM Regulatory, will serve as moderator of the panel discussion. “How are the Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) audits working for you? Are the Medicare Advantage plans becoming more of a burden? Believe it or not, this group of panelists listens to our members.”

VGM has been working at building solid relationships with officials from the SBA and CMS over the past couple years. Many VGM members attended roundtables and hearings hosted by the SBA, presenting their issues to the well-respected government agency. In turn, the SBA was able to share DME supplier stories heard at these events directly with their connections in Washington, D.C., in an effort to improve programs.

Since last year’s Heartland Conference, VGM has maintained a working relationship with Tangita Daramola and her staff at CMS to improve CMS programs and keep DME suppliers informed of CMS updates.

Attending Heartland Conference to meet, talk with, and listen to this impressive panel of federal government representatives is an opportunity you do not want to miss.
