As consumers, we are now trusting reviews and referrals that come from individuals who are most like ourselves, needing the same type of care. And as consumers, we are looking to each other for suggestions on which homecare provider to go to for that care. We want to know:

  • What other patients experience has been with a homecare provider?
  • How other patients were treated by the homecare provider?
  • As a patient or caregiver, would you recommend that homecare provider and why?

The answers to these questions are what can set you apart from other homecare providers.

In the homecare industry, you need to have a steady stream of new patients to make your business profitable. Your patients and caregivers are your best referral sources. They know you, your staff and the care you provide. A positive patient testimonial goes a long way towards helping you instill brand loyalty in this target audience. Patients and caregivers can typically choose where they want to go. As a caregiver myself, I know when I need something for my mother, I always call the same local homecare provider because not only do they sell quality products, but also because their service and care they offer is outstanding.

Content is King

Any business owner cannot open a business magazine or how to profitable book without hearing the latest buzz word of “content.” Content marketing is a marketing technique of creating and distributing valuable, relevant and consistent content to attract and acquire a clearly defined audience (patients and caregivers), with the objective of driving profitable customer action.

One piece of content, such as a patient or caregiver testimonial, can drive your marketing strategy for months on many platforms. Whether it be on your website, Facebook or newsletter, you can use these patient and caregiver testimonials in your marketing messages in order to help achieve your business goals. Developing a roadmap to reach these goals does not have to be complicated.
