Join the MAMES Home Modification Accessibility Committee

Posted on in AHIA News

MAMES is a regional association serving the Midwestern states of Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. In 2012 MAMES created a committee – the Home Modification Accessibility Committee (HMAC) – that focuses solely on the needs of the home modification accessibility industry.

The HMAC’s mission is to create and maintain a high level of ethical standards for the home modification/accessibility industry through professional education, credentialing, advocacy, and collaboration. HMAC is inviting interested members of state/regional associations around the country to join our group and help us advocate and grow the home modification industry.

There are two prerequisites to sign up to be part of this group: you must be a member in good standing with the state/regional association in your market, and you must be willing to participate in advocacy and in our monthly committee conference calls. The conference calls are the first Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m. CT but could be adjusted to accommodate Pacific time if there are new members.

This month Jim Greatorex of AHIA has agreed to chair this committee.

“The group at MAMES has put together an excellent platform that can easily be expanded to include the rest of the country,” said Greatorex. “We highly recommend that if your company currently pursues revenue in the home modification arena that you join this group.”

Below is an example of the agenda from the last meeting:
