Member Spotlight: Mike Conlin of Jayhawk Pharmacy and Patient Supply

Posted on in Membership

It is with pleasure to announce Mike Conlin, owner of Jayhawk Pharmacy and well-versed VGM member, was awarded The Best Medical Supply of 2018 in the Topeka, Kansas, area by TKBusiness Magazine. This victory did not come with a lack of effort. Conlin and his team engage in building deep-rooted customer relationships, which are reflected in the longevity of Conlin’s career experience.

In grade school, Conlin witnessed first-hand the influence a local pharmacist could have on a surrounding community. From there, he was inspired to push his limits. Conlin went on to graduate from the University of Kansas with a degree in cellular biology. Upon graduating, he applied to and was accepted to the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. While there, his education gave Conlin the opportunity to work at Jayhawk Drug, the same pharmacy that held high influence on him as a child. This experience further instilled the importance of becoming a community pharmacist, providing a personal level of patient care to help solve a patient’s health challenges. Conlin moved forward to graduate from the university in 1978, with his eye on becoming a community pharmacy owner in the future.

Not too long after that, Conlin’s goals started to flourish. In 1988, he and his wife, Cathy, purchased Jayhawk Drug from Bob Drumm. The pharmacy at that time was located in a large medical clinic in the hospital corridor in Topeka. Over the course of the next 30 years, Conlin and his family have sought to become a strong part of the Topeka medical community, which our team is proud to say, they have.

For Jayhawk Pharmacy and Patient Supply, the last 30 years have been showcased with expansion, innovation, and education within the realms of pharmacy and patient care. Mike, we are very proud to have you as a member of the VGM family. Congratulations on the success of your endeavors. (Read Mike Conlin’s full biography here).
