A recent meeting of VGM and WAMES Members with Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) has earned Madison-area press coverage. On Feb. 5, Wisconsin-area HME providers, together with VGM Government Relations and U.S. Rehab, met with Ryan in Janesville, Wis. The group left the meeting confident that the Speaker is supportive of efforts to provide competitive bidding and reimbursement cut relief for providers.

“Speaker Ryan is very much aware of issues that medical equipment providers face,” said Tom Powers, VGM and Associates’ director of government relations. “He understands how Medicare’s competitive bidding program hindered suppliers from providing necessary equipment seniors and people with disabilities. Mr. Ryan agreed that the bidding program is a real problem and wants to be helpful where he can so DME suppliers can continue to serve those who need these services.”
