VGM Promotes Owen, Welcomes Meyer to Team

Change is a natural order of business, especially at the beginning of a new year. For VGM & Associates, 2018 marked the transition into new leadership roles for its contracting and member services teams.

Scott Owen has transitioned from vice president of Sales to senior vice president of Contracting. Owen has been with VGM for three years and will have oversight of the vendor contract division.

To fill the vacancy left by Owen’s promotion, RJ Meyer has been hired to join the team at VGM. Meyer was previously with Biotronik Cardiac Rhythm Management and will utilize his previous experience to lead VGM’s regional account managers and member services team.

“I’m excited to announce these changes to our team,” said Clint Geffert, president of VGM & Associates. “Scott and RJ are key components to serving our members and vendors. Their dedication to the industry and exceptional relationship skills will continue to drive VGM’s commitment to being agile, innovative and adaptable to the needs of our partners.”

Scott Owen, Sr. VP of Contracting

An industry veteran for 26 years, Owen looks forward to his new role. He anticipates spending more time face-to-face with members and vendors alike to ensure that the VGM community is connected and that opportunities for success are being realized.

“The opportunity to lead our contracting programs and business solutions into the future is very exciting,” said Owen. “We value our community and take great pride in building relationships to obtain the best products, pricing, and value for both our members and vendor partners. I look forward to building on that reputation and being nimble to accommodate the needs of industry stakeholders.”

RJ Meyer, Sr. VP of Sales

Meyer will be the first to tell you he has big shoes to fill. Although, with his vast experience in sales and the small-town friendliness and tenacious work ethic that VGM members are accustomed to, it should not take him long to make an impact within the industry.

“I look forward to getting out into the field to meet and talk with our members about how VGM can provide additional solutions that will bring value to their businesses,” said Meyer, senior vice president of Sales. “VGM along with our members and vendor partners have forged a great community. We’re all in a ‘people-helping-people’ business, and that’s what I’m most excited about.”

Members attending Medtrade will have an opportunity to meet RJ in person at booth #513 or at any of the VGM-sponsored social events. You can also see them both during Heartland Conference.
