Bill Stelzer

Bill Stelzer is best known as a VGM/AHIA consultant/coach on "In Home Safety and Accessibility" and as the former entrepreneurial general manager of Green Bay (Wis.) Home Medical Equipment. "Bill recently retired and we are thrilled to have him on board with us. Not only does he bring extensive knowledge of rehab, respiratory and HME to the table, but he initiated and developed a home modification to meet medical needs program at Green Bay," said Jerry Keiderling, president of AHIA and U.S. Rehab. Stelzer has been a consultant to VGM/AHIA members for the last 4 plus years and has helped several companies start up or enhance their Home Modifications Business and other retail aspects of their HME and/or Construction business. He has made several presentations at National Home Medical Equipment Conferences including Medtrade, Medtrade Spring and the Heartland Conference and he has written several articles for Homecare Magazine, Hme News, and VGM and AHIA. Prior to that he was the general manager of Green Bay for 11 years, during which time they increased net sales from $1.5 million to $6 million during a 10-year period, while decreasing Medicare/Medicaid/insurance contracting billings from more than 90 percent to less than 50 percent of Green Bay's business. They also increased retail sales by more than 1,200 percent, and decreased accounts receivable days outstanding from more than 100 to less than 25 during the last five years of his leadership. They also increased and developed a complex rehab program and product line. Stelzer received a bachelor's in business administration from Marian College, Fond du Lac, Wis., has a Master of Coaching Certification through the Healthcare Partnership, a character education teacher/trainer certification through the Josephson Institute. He is a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Wisconsin, is a certified cardiac exercise technologist, and previously was a registered cardiac/vascular ultrasound technologist. He has over 40 years experience in the medical/healthcare arena. Prior to his HME career, Stelzer was Director of Rehab Services at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals for 20 years, where he developed mobile ultrasound testing programs for several hospitals, and designed, built and staffed a full-service in/outpatient physical rehabilitation services program. Active in his community, he also served more than ten years on the board of the Beaver Dam United School District (elected position).

Christina Throndson

Christina Throndson, Web Marketing Manager, oversees all content produced by VGM Forbin for websites, social media and online advertising. Christina joined VGM in 2004. Christina is Google AdWords certified, is a certified Yahoo Ambassador and is professionally trained in both New Media Marketing and Search Engine Marketing. These focuses allow her to analyze customer websites and provide ideas and solutions to drive additional traffic to their sites for increased revenues. Christina presents often to the HME industry on the ever-changing market of social media and search engine marketing and optimization.

Jeremy Kauten

Jim Greatorex

Jim Greatorex just completed his 34th year in the HME industry. In 1988, he started Black Bear Medical, which grew to include 3 stores and 37 employees in Maine and New Hampshire until sold earlier this year. Jim was selected by his peers in New England to be the president of NEMED (New England Medical Equipment Dealers), serving in that role until June 2007. He has been very active in lobbying in Washington for the industry. He has over 20 years of HME Retail experience and speaks all over the country sharing HME Retail successes.

John Gallagher

John E. Gallagher is vice president of Government Relations for The VGM Group, Inc. in Waterloo, Iowa, the largest organization representing independent durable medical equipment providers. In his position, John oversees key government and regulatory affairs that pertain to the durable medical equipment (DME) industry. As a veteran of the home medical products industry, Gallagher has amassed thousands of miles, traveling across the country to educate state associations and independent providers on regulatory and government issues. Additionally, John has been conducive in working with independent providers and state associations to promote the DME industry, while advocating for beneficiaries' access to quality care. Prior to joining VGM, John served as the Vice President of North American Sales for Osbon Medical Systems and remained in that position through two mergers/acquisitions with both UroHealth Medical and Imagyn Medical Technologies. In 1998, Gallagher teamed up with Julian Osbon to form a new medical equipment company, SOMA BLUE Medical, where he served as Vice President of North American Sales until he moved to Rhodes Financial Services as the Director of Sales and Marketing. During his time at Rhodes Financial Services, Gallagher served as liaison between the company and various government agencies. He also served on monthly IRS and SBSE (Small Business - Self Employed) forums that dealt with issues affecting the tax industry and tax software development. Gallagher is an Iowa native and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's degree in management from the State University of New York - Binghamton. He also received his Regular Army Commission from the University of Iowa, and served as a US Army Signal Corp. Officer from 1983 until 1989, when he resigned his commission with the rank of Captain. As the vice president of Government Relations, John shares VGM's vision to not only support the common goals and interests of the home medical equipment, respiratory, and infusion industry, but also to influence how the industry is viewed and supported by both the general public and the government officials at the local, state, and national level. John has fulfilled his duties with the VGM Group since July 31, 2002.

Kay Koch

Kay Koch , OTR/L, ATP, is a RESNA fellow, has over 30 years seating and wheeled mobility experience. She is a graduate of the Occupational Therapy program at The Ohio State University. Her focus has been on pediatric and adult seating positioning, wheeled mobility and assistive technology solutions. Kay has spent her years as an OT in various roles, from clinician, manufacturer rep, educator, second level reviewer and in accreditation. She is the Rehab Team Supervisor for The van Halem Group a division of VGM, since 2014. She has presented at various national and international conferences.

Kelly Grahovac

Kelly Grahovac, MBA serves as a Senior Consultant for The van Halem Group where she focuses on audits, appeals, education and training across multiple lines of business and various specialties. Kelly has nearly ten years' experience at one of the nation's leading Medicare contractors where she worked for the Durable Medical Equipment Regional Carrier (DMERC), Qualified Independent Contractor (QIC), and A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC). Her most recent role with Medicare was working as a Sr. Provider Relations Representative with the A/B MAC where she developed and delivered training courses to hospitals and physician office staff, medical billers, medical societies, and state associations. Kelly has in-depth knowledge in Medicare appeals, policy and education and training.

Before joining VGM, Markusen was Co-Founder of Simply Shops and COO of Simply Retail, providing outsource retail solutions and retail consulting for hundreds of hospitals and other healthcare organizations. Prior to her career in healthcare retail, Markusen was VP of Sales, President and CFO of multiple national long-term care companies, serving the healthcare industry and the nation's seniors.

Mark Higley

Mark Higley is Vice President of Regulatory Affairs of the VGM Group with responsibilities including corporate business development, market research and industry analysis. His current projects include analysis of governmental, regulatory and compliance issues affecting the DMEPOS industry, including national competitive bidding, health care reform, and other current home medical equipment provider concerns. He sits on the AAHomecare Regulatory Council, on the board of the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation (HQAA), and is a regular speaker/panelist/consultant at numerous HME industry events. Mark received his master's of business administration in marketing research from the University of Iowa, and earned undergraduate degrees in Finance and Economics. Prior to his 1998 employment with VGM, Mark held a variety of executive positions with the Arena Football League, Chicago, IL, and as a financial analyst with Deere & Company, Moline, IL.

Rob Baumhover

Rob Baumhover is the Director of Retail Programs with The VGM Group, Inc. VGM Retail assists VGM members with diversifying their HME businesses through improved retail product mix and operations. Before joining VGM in 2010, Baumhover worked in a variety of positions with big-box retail companies including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Hobby Lobby, Menards, and Wal-Mart. In his retail career spanning over 20 years, Rob opened and managed numerous big-box retail stores throughout the Midwest, with responsibilities including the daily operations of stores, the setup of floor plans, ordering merchandise, and the hiring and training of management and sales employees. Rob holds a Bachelor of Science in Teaching from Clarke University in Dubuque, IA.

Ronda Buhrmester

As a VGM / U.S. Rehab associate since 2012, Ronda specializes in the billing and reimbursement. She managed a hospital-based DME in Illinois for 11 years, and handled sales and marketing. Ronda is a respiratory therapist as well as a certified mastectomy fitter. She assists VGM / U.S. Rehab members with review of claims and all types of audits, and educates members on medical policies in the respiratory, face to face ruling, and general DME areas. She serves on the Jurisdictions A, B, and D respiratory team, is a member of the Provider Outreach and Education team for Jurisdictions A, B, and C and the Jurisdiction D, and attends the council meetings with Jurisdiction B and D. She is also on the Great Lakes Home Medical Services Association Board of Directors and a member the National Supplier Clearinghouse Advisory Council. Ronda has presented at the VGM Heartland Conference as well as the Medtrade conference, and has conducted webinars and on-site education with VGM Members.

Ryan Ball

Ryan Ball, VGM Market Data, has worked in the DME industry for The VGM Group, for nine years as director of DME state policy and various other analyst roles within VGM Government & Regulatory department.
