Heather Johnson serves as the Training and Compliance Manager for VGM Education, where she oversees the development, management, and delivery of compliance-driven training programs that support healthcare organizations nationwide.  

Heather began her career with VGM focusing on compliance, working closely with accreditations, continuing education units (CEUs), and learning platforms. Her early experience built a strong foundation in regulatory requirements and quality standards, which continues to inform her approach today. 

Over time, Heather expanded her role beyond compliance into content development and program creation, contributing to the design of educational offerings that help customers meet both regulatory requirements and professional development goals. She is known for embracing new challenges and continuously seeking opportunities to grow her skill set and enhance the impact of VGM Education’s offerings.  

In her current role, Heather collaborates with internal teams, subject matter experts, and external partners to ensure training programs are accurate, relevant, and aligned with industry regulations. She plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of educational content while supporting innovation in how learning solutions are delivered. 

Heather is also an active contributor to VGM’s culture, serving as a VGM Journey Guide, ESOP committee member, and engaging in initiatives that promote learning, collaboration, and organizational pride. 

Before joining VGM Education in 2016, Heather was with Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, Iowa, for 10 years. She served as vice president/assisted living administrator/admissions coordinator for the continuing care retirement community. Before her career in healthcare, Heather was a licensed funeral director for six years. Heather has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and was once gifted a live chicken in Arusha, Tanzania.
