Award honors women who make a difference in the home medical equipment (HME) industry

HME Woman of the Year
Nominations for the 2021 HME Woman of the Year Award are being accepted through Oct. 22.

The sixth annual award, presented by VGM, recognizes a woman in the industry who has made increasingly significant contributions throughout her career to her company, community, and the home medical equipment industry.

“The HME Woman of the Year Award honors exceptional leaders in our industry,” said Clint Geffert, president of VGM & Associates. “Whether through advocacy, sharing expertise with peers, or by being innovative to grow business, this award recognizes a woman who makes a lasting impact on her customers, community, and coworkers.”

Each year dozens of nominations are received from across the nation. Nominees include providers, manufacturers, association executives, and other professionals in the home medical equipment, rehab, respiratory, and mastectomy industries. Last year four finalists were honored during a virtual ceremony, and Patty Mastandrea, chief executive officer (CEO) of MedCare Equipment Co. LLC, received the award.

“We all know a woman who deserves to be recognized for her actions in our industry, and this is your opportunity to shine a light on all her accomplishments,” said Geffert.

HME Woman of the Year nominations are open to all women, regardless of title or position, who work within the HME industry. Nominations are due Oct. 22 and can be submitted online by visiting www.vgm.com/womanoftheyear. The winner will be announced during a virtual ceremony on Dec. 16, 2021.
