Fisher and Paykel Healthcare has announced the launch of their newest nasal PAP mask, F&P Nova Nasal, to the United States, for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

Further strengthening Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s mask portfolio, F&P Nova Nasal introduces unique technology to ensure mask performance while maintaining their commitment to supporting patient adherence to PAP therapy. Building on the recent successful launch of the F&P Nova Micro™ and F&P Solo mask, F&P Nova Nasal reinforces Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s commitment to continuous innovation and focus on patient care and outcomes.

Steve Wilson, VP Sales and Marketing North America for Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, said, “With more than 25 years of innovation behind us, we know the mask is key to PAP therapy success. Our customers tell us they need masks they can trust to work, in order to support their patients and businesses. We’re confident that F&P Nova Nasal can deliver this, complementing the rest of our mask portfolio, which together offers a wide range of options to meet varied patient needs.”

When designing F&P Nova Nasal, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare set out to create a mask that delivers strongly in the key areas that define performance: easy fitting, stable seal, and sound sleep.

  • Easy fitting: F&P Nova Nasal’s SwingFit™ headgear allows users to simply anchor the cushion on the nose, swing the headgear around their head, and secure with one click. The headgear naturally aligns to the frame for easy fastening.
  • Stable seal: The comfortable RollFit cushion and the pivoting clips conform to the patient’s nose, rolling with movement to help prevent leaks, regardless of their preferred sleeping position.
  • Sound sleep: A washable diffuser minimizes noise and draft, supporting a restful night's sleep for both the user and their bed partner.

In addition, F&P Nova Nasal features structured side arms that help deliver a stable seal while providing a clear field of view. The arms are covered in F&P’s soft AirEdge fabric to help prevent marks on the face. For added versatility, the mask includes an optional tube clip, allowing patients to position the tube up and over the head or wear it down, depending on their preference.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s extensive trials reported positive results:

  • 91% of trial users found SwingFit intuitive to use.
  • 98% of trial users felt they could sleep in their preferred position and move freely without leaks.
  • 100% of trial users rated the noise level while sleeping as quiet or very quiet.3
