Q. Is our learning management system truly integrated with the systems that matter, such as HRIS?

 A. In today’s dynamic professional landscape, organizations increasingly recognize the importance of streamlining their administrative processes, especially when it comes to managing employee training and development. One of the most significant advancements in this area is the integration of your learning management systems (LMS) with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), often known as payroll systems.

VGM Education, for example, offers a learning platform that effortlessly connects with your existing HRIS. Such seamless integration is more than just a convenience; it’s a strategic solution that saves valuable time. Traditionally, human resource teams are burdened with the repetitive tasks of adding or removing employees, updating roles and assigning managers within multiple systems. When an LMS communicates directly with your HRIS, these processes become automated and precise.

At the heart of this integration is the application programming interface (API), a tool that facilitates smooth communication between computer systems. API capabilities can allow for automatic creation, editing and termination of user profiles, ensuring that the latest employee information flows directly from your HRIS system into the learning platform. This means that when a new team member joins your organization, their training profile is created. If someone’s role or manager changes, their records are promptly updated. Even terminations are efficiently processed, maintaining accuracy across all systems.

Such automation not only boosts efficiency but also ensures compliance and up-to-date recordkeeping, which is critical for audits and organizational transparency. By connecting your training initiatives directly to your HRIS, your organization is empowered to focus less on administrative hassles and more on nurturing talent and achieving strategic goals.
