Published in Government Relations on January 30, 2026

Waterloo, Iowa — On Wednesday, VGM Group welcomed employees, local DME suppliers, and community guests for the latest installment of its Meet the Candidates series. The featured guest was Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA), who currently represents Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District and is now running for the U.S. Senate following Sen. Joni Ernst’s decision not to seek reelection in 2026.

Hinson VGM Visit

The event offered a valuable opportunity for attendees to hear directly from a sitting member of Congress seeking higher office—continuing VGM’s commitment to creating space for meaningful, bipartisan conversations with policymakers.

Rep. Hinson discussed several issues central to the DMEPOS industry and the broader healthcare community. She took questions, listened to concerns, and emphasized the importance of understanding the day-to-day challenges faced by suppliers and the patients they serve.

The VGM team expressed appreciation for her continued engagement and support. Rep. Hinson encouraged attendees to keep sharing their perspectives, noting that firsthand experiences play a key role in shaping effective policy as both the legislative session and her campaign move forward.

As always, hosting events with your local legislators is one of the best ways to ensure they remember you—and the importance of DMEPOS issues. If you’re interested in organizing an event or need help getting started, reach out to Emily Kettman at emily.kettman@vgm.com
