A portion of the conversation focused on Iowa’s Managed Care Organizations (MCOs). Attendees raised concerns about the current structure of the managed care system and its impact on both providers and patients. Sand acknowledged these concerns and agreed that Iowa’s managed care system needs restructuring to better serve Iowans.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity for open dialogue on critical policy issues and reinforced the importance of ongoing engagement between state leaders and the DME community.
