April 2026: A Message from President Lindy Tentinger

Lindy Tentinger, President, VGM & AssociatesBy Lindy Tentinger, President, VGM & Associates

I have heard from many of you recently, and a consistent message is coming through clearly. This is a challenging time to be a provider. The pace of change feels relentless, and the impact of decisions being made upstream is showing up in very real ways on the ground. Planning feels harder. Margins feel tighter. And the responsibility you carry for your teams, your patients, and your communities feels heavier than ever.

The Reality Providers Face Today

Across the country, providers are being asked to operate in an environment that feels increasingly complex and, at times, discouraging. Decisions are being made far upstream that directly affect your ability to plan, invest, hire, and grow. Many of you are making difficult choices not because your organizations are failing or your care is lacking, but because the landscape continues to shift beneath your feet.

VGM's Role and Responsibility

While VGM cannot control every market or regulatory outcome, our responsibility remains clear. We are here to advocate for the industry, protect patient access and choice, and ensure you have the information, resources, and support needed to make thoughtful decisions for your business and your patients. That responsibility is not just part of our mission. It is what drives our work every single day.

Advocacy, Support, and Transparency

Advocacy remains a critical part of that commitment. Our government relations team continues to engage with policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders. We work to bring real provider perspective into conversations that too often overlook the realities happening on the ground. This work does not always move as quickly as we would like, and it often happens behind the scenes, but it matters. We will continue showing up consistently, thoughtfully, and firmly on your behalf.

At the same time, we know advocacy alone is not enough. Providers also need practical, timely support. You need trusted guidance, access to experts, and resources you can put to work immediately.

Transparency continues to matter deeply to us, especially when the conversations are difficult. The industry is changing. New models will emerge. Some may evolve, some may fall away, and some will reshape how care is delivered. Our role is not to minimize those realities or to tell providers what decisions to make. Our role is to provide context, perspective, and support so you can move forward with confidence and intention.

At the heart of all of this is something I believe deeply. Patient access depends on strong, viable providers. When providers struggle, patients feel the impact. When choices are reduced, care suffers. Protecting the future of home-based care means ensuring qualified, committed providers can remain in business and continue serving their communities.

Our Focus for the Year Ahead

VGM exists because of you. Your resilience, leadership, and commitment to patient care shape this organization and this industry. Thank you for continuing to engage, challenge us, and trust us as your partner. We do not take that trust lightly.

As we move through the rest of the year, our focus remains the same. To be steady when things feel uncertain. To be honest when conversations are hard. And to be a trusted partner so you never feel like you are navigating this landscape on your own.
