In a strategic shift, the VGM Heartland Conference will open with a greeting from several company leaders, including CEO Jeremy Stolz, to discuss initiatives geared toward helping their members grow.

Among those initiatives, AI has emerged as a critically relevant topic, and attendees can expect several sessions dedicated to exploring its impact and applications.

“We're in the technology revolution right now and it's not going away,” said Arienne Martinez, director of organizational development at VGM Homelink and the Education Pillar for the conference. “Obviously, we have to make it work for our business. And with technology getting smarter, there's people out there who are using technology for not-so-great things. Cyber security is huge, so (it’s important to) learn some tools to make sure you're safe out there while using AI.”

VGM also recently named Ryan Wood chief information security officer, as well as Lindy Tentinger president of VGM & Associates.

Also new to Heartland on June 10-12: Essentially Women, a division of VGM, will host its Focus Conference at the event for the first time, and U.S. Rehab, another division of VGM, will collaborate with RESNA for an increased focus on complex rehab.

"It’s a significant shift that promises fresh perspectives and expertise specific to business and clinical custom rehab technology,” Martinez said.

The overall education lineup at Heartland spans not only women's health and complex rehab, but also respiratory care, marketing, accessibility, compliance, leadership, people strategy, billing, reimbursement, wound care, regulatory issues, and audits. Participants stand to gain up to 15 contact hours.

“Our primary goal was to create education that is relevant and really meets the needs of the HME industry where it is right now,” said Martinez. “We know it is ever evolving and constantly changing, so our aim was to ensure that Heartland’s educational offerings align seamlessly with the industry’s current challenges.”
