New Whitepaper About Home Access Now AvailableBy Jim Greatorex, VP, VGM Live at Home

VGM Live at Home, in collaboration with Cindi Petito OTR/L, ATP, CAPS, CEAC, have produced a whitepaper, "A Best Practice Model for Home Access Services: Collaboration Between Occupational Therapy Practitioners & Home Access Professionals."

At VGM Live at Home, we believe that besides the business to consumer market that a great way to build a sustainable business model is to become a trusted resource to the clinical referral. That referral consists of many of the healthcare sectors, and in many cases, the result of that referral will result in necessary collaboration with a clinician, which in many cases is an Occupational Therapist (OT).

This paper defines the roles in a successful home access project for the OT and the home access professional. It also states which type of clients would require this kind of collaboration and explains how it will result in the best outcomes for the clients, which both professions are there to serve.

We as an industry have an excellent opportunity to embrace the medical community by educating them about our services and, in return, building relationships where we can professionally work together for the best result possible. It’s great to get digital leads, but it’s far better to be an invited guest into someone’s home when a trusted clinician asks you to assist with solutions for their clients. This paper is the start of that process.

We ask that you review the document, which is about a twelve-minute read, and send us back any comments you may have. We want to hear the good, the not so good, and even the ugly.

Thank you for taking the time to read this paper and send us comments.
