VGM Respiratory Launches New Telerespiratory Partner Resource Guide

Telerespiratory Partner ResourceVGM Respiratory is excited to launch a new Telerespiratory Partner Resource Guide, exclusive for VGM members.

“This guide was designed to provide our members with information and materials to build an industry-leading sleep and respiratory program,” said Boone Lockard, Director of VGM Respiratory. “This guide of resources will provide members with the tools needed to create a robust and clinically sound telerespiratory program.”

There are a few key reasons as to why VGM members should consider building an effective and efficient telerespiratory program.

“We need to reduce the amount of friction it takes to provide and receive care. Consumers are leaning towards online shopping more and more each year. This is mostly due to the convenience of shopping from home,” stated Lockard. “Taking time out of the day to travel to a location, spend time being educated on equipment, and returning home proved to be somewhat archaic during the pandemic. Telerespiratory programs have shown that we can reduce logistic hurdles while maintaining a high level of patient care.”

The other key reason to build a telerespiratory program and outsource remote PAP setups is due to the shortage of homecare respiratory therapist and clinicians. Outsourcing these services allows an RT to care for higher acuity or more complex patients. These telerespiratory services also allow DMEs to focus on new programs, such as ventilation or HFCWO.

As the value-based care model becomes more prominent throughout the DME/HME space, it’s important for respiratory professionals to learn how to advance their clinical program and maximize respiratory outcomes. The guide includes information and solutions on masking fitting with AI technology, remote setups, compliance follow-up, and resupply outreach programs. Each of these items includes solutions provided by VGM’s vendor partners.

“We at VGM wanted to put all of our telerespiratory providers in a quick and easy to use reference guide,” continued Lockard. “We now have our vendor resources outlined for every step of a patient's journey to successful therapy.”

VGM has additional information on the member portal with sleep product class resources and solutions to help you develop and grow your own sleep and respiratory program.
