Letter from the Vice President, Jim Greatorex: August 2021

Published in Home Modifications on August 25, 2021

The last half of August always seems to be a time of preparing for what’s coming next. Whether it’s back to school, the start of the fall sports season, or in the corporate world the pickup of conferences and events, most of us are preparing for something right now. For the Home Access industry, we have had a summer of high activity with members dealing with increased demand for work, tough times finding qualified help who are motivated to work, and volatile pricing. Manufacturers have also had a big uptick in sales and challenges that include raw material shortages, overseas shipment delays, and unprecedented freight issues. For many, the opportunities for growth outweigh the ability to pursue new opportunities.

The fourth quarter will not slow down for most, and 2022 looks to be the year the industry becomes more mature and is recognized for the services we provide. We are partnering on several new opportunities and as they evolve, we will share with you great new services and national relationships we secure. Many of the new services we have in the works will be introduced at some level at Heartland, and we are excited to see those of you who are able to make the trip here for the conference. We have also heard from many of you that either you are too busy to get away or are continuing to have pandemic issues in your company. So, besides Heartland, which will be a great value to all who attend, along with some in-person, hands-on training, we are not going to schedule any more events until 2022. In turn, we will have webinars where needed and video updates on new services throughout the rest of the year.

We wish you all great health and safety.

We want to thank you for your membership with VGM Live at Home. We will have more to announce as we go through this year, so stay tuned!

Jim Greatorex
