Letter from the President, Todd Eagen: August 2021

Published in Orthotics & Prosthetics on August 18, 2021

As it stands today as I write this, the OPGA and VGM team is very excited to be heading to Boston in a couple of weeks to attend this year’s AOPA National Assembly live and in person. We look forward to seeing and conversing with the many OPGA members that have expressed that they will be attending! We have a few new programs and offerings, as well as enhanced long-time resources, that we are really looking forward to informing and educating the OPGA community on.

There are two things in this month’s e-newsletter I would highly encourage you to view. First, the O&P Patient-Centered Medicare Improvement Act has finally dropped in the Senate. If passed, this Bill will be the most significant and positive legislation the profession has seen in many years. It is all hands-on deck and we need everyone’s grassroots efforts to get this through the House and Senate. Please reach out to your congressional representatives and ask them to support H.R. 1990 and S. 2556!

The second item is the announcement of this year’s four finalists for the O&P Woman of the Year. These four finalist represent some of the absolute best the profession has to offer, and we are once again honored to recognize them. Don’t miss the announcement of the winner on September 21!

Yours in Service,
 Todd Egan
