Sherry Krug

In a virtual ceremony today, Sherry Krug was awarded the 2022 Home Medical Equipment (HME) Woman of the Year. Krug is the vice president of business development of Binson’s Medical Equipment & Sales based out of Centerline, Michigan. Throughout her career, Krug has demonstrated her effectiveness as a leader in the HME industry and her ability to achieve great results. She was a provider to a successful ACO and held a key role in establishing a DME for the largest house call practice in the country.

Joining Binson's in 2020, Krug now serves as a relational leader, overseeing operational functions for all the company’s locations. She possesses expertise in HME/DME operations and specializes in respiratory and COPD programs. The company’s growth and development are supported by her ability to lead teams through complex projects with a focus on quality, compliance, and cost savings.

Krug has developed a strong reputation of treating the business as if it were her own while providing her teams a successful working environment in which they can thrive. Krug has been recognized for her profound knowledge of regulatory compliance, strategic planning, inventory management, sales and marketing techniques, customer service training, as well as practical business acumen.

Krug understands the important role DMEs play throughout the continuum of care, as well as their ability to drive savings in overall healthcare spend with proper utilization and time management. She believes that the value of comfort brought to families and patients by maintaining a safe environment at home is what builds compassion and relationships with referral sources. Krug’s philosophy is to work hard, measure results, and be adaptable—all while being humble, understanding, and empowering to others.

“Thank you. This is such an honor and beyond any expectation that I had,” said Krug following the announcement. “The women that are here today are so special and all so deserving of this award."

Now in its seventh year, the HME Woman of the Year Award, sponsored by VGM & Associates, recognizes one woman in the industry who has made significant contributions throughout her career to her company, community, and the HME industry.

“It is an honor and a privilege for me to be able to present this award to Sherry today,” said Mike Mallaro, CEO of VGM Group Inc., VGM & Associates’ parent company. “Sherry serves as a role model for women currently in the industry and sets a standard for generations to come. I’m thrilled to see what she will accomplish next in the industry.”
