DMERT Group Names Wayne Grau as Chair of Executive Board

Published in Services on June 09, 2022

The Durable Medical Equipment Repair and Training (DMERT) Group has announced Wayne Grau as the new Chair of their Executive Board.

Greg Packer, president of U.S. Rehab and previous Chair of the DMERT Group, announced his resignation to be effective upon the naming of a successor.

“I am very happy to be working with a great group of rehab professionals that serve on the DMERT board,” said Grau. “The hallmark of the complex rehab industry has been the professionalism of our ATP’s and the service that trained rehab service technicians have offered our patients.”

Grau started his HME career in 1991 with Pride Mobility Products. He held various sales positions and was promoted to Senior Area Manager in 2002 managing the New England area. Wayne was promoted to Director of Rehab Industry Affairs, manager in charge of coordinating Pride Mobility Products efforts to support rehab providers in regard to legislation and regulatory issues. In 2007, Wayne accepted a position with Managed Care Associates and his duties included VP roles in both legislative affairs and business development and supplier relations.

This past December Wayne accepted a position with MK Battery to lead the HME product category. Wayne works with the MK sales team to help better serve their customers and help with growing sales revenue. Wayne received his BBA from the University of North Texas and his MBA from Baylor University with a specialization in healthcare. Wayne has presented retail sales training at Medtrade 2020, numerous state association meetings, and via webinar to MED Group members.

“I hope to continue the great work that Greg Packer from U.S. Rehab created when he envisioned the DMERT Group,” Grau continued. “I look forward to working with the entire industry as we continue to strengthen the complex rehab industry into the future.”

The DMERT Group Board of Directors includes Tyler Mahncke, Vice Chair of the Board; Matthew Macpherson, ATP, L3I, Executive Director; Don Clayback; Julie Piriano, PT, ATP/SMS; Mark Schmeler, PHD, OTR/L, ATP; Steve Cranna; and Dan Fedor.
