It is hard to believe that the last days of summer are upon us. I can safely say that we squeezed in just about every opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Midwest summer my family and I had. I hope all of you were able to as well. As we begin to look forward to fall here in Iowa, we have plenty to be excited about in OPGA as well. AOPA is right around the corner again, and I am excited to reconnect with many of you and other O&P stakeholders in Indianapolis in just a few weeks.

Speaking of AOPA, we have announced the finalists for the O&P Woman of the Year for 2023. This is one of my favorite things we do at OPGA, and I would like to thank Össur Americas and our selection committee for their continued support of this annual award. There are so many deserving females in our profession that make such an impact every day, and it’s my privilege to be able to be a part of honoring one of them with this award every year.

We are also very excited with the initial response and momentum we are seeing with The Medicare Orthotics and Prosthetics Patient-Centered Care Act (H.R. 4315). After participating in a great AOPA Policy Forum and an equally impactful NAAOP Legislative Fly In, we are looking forward to seeing it introduced into the Senate hopefully very soon. OPGA will continue to do our part to help in championing this important piece of legislation for our profession.

Finally, we are working as hard as ever behind the scenes to continue to find new and creative ways to bring value to your OPGA membership. We introduced a suite of complimentary education courses earlier this year that has been very well utilized, and we are looking to add even more creative and impactful resources in the coming months. Be on the lookout for announcements of new supplier partners, new webinars and articles from experts, etc. that are designed to help you as a business owner. I am excited to bring these resources to you, and I believe you will find them to be beneficial as well.

As always, thanks for all you do for your patients and our profession every day. I hope to see many of you in Indianapolis in just a couple weeks.
