The $11M Medicare Tool That Gives Seniors Wrong Insurance Information

Published in Member Communities on December 04, 2019

In a recent article from Medpage Today, it was reported that the federal government recently redesigned a digital tool that helps seniors navigate complicated Medicare choices. However, consumer advocates say it's malfunctioning with alarming frequency, offering inaccurate cost estimates and creating chaos in some states during the open enrollment period that started on October 15 and ended December 7, 2019.

More than 60 million people use Medicare, and this tool is intended to help beneficiaries select which plan works best for them during the enrollment period. However, these inaccuracies and malfunctions that have been reported can lead to serious issues for millions of beneficiaries in 2020. It is imperative that Medicare beneficiaries are able to find out the exact benefits and coverage their selected plans include to continue receiving the proper care they deserve.
