CRT Awareness Week 2023

The National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART) has designated the week of Aug. 14 -18 as "National Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) Awareness Week." This focused week aims to raise awareness about the significance CRT in the lives of numerous individuals facing mobility challenges. The primary objective is to stimulate heightened engagement within the industry and to garner sustained backing for legislations that safeguard access to CRT.

This strategically-timed week aligns with the congressional August recess, a valuable opportunity for CRT advocates to connect with their elected representatives in person. With members of Congress returning to their home districts during this period, it presents a prime occasion for advocates to enlighten officials about the critical importance of CRT and the necessity of enacting effective legislation to protect its accessibility. Advocates can achieve this by attending district office meetings, participating in town hall gatherings, or scheduling discussions at provider locations. This localized engagement empowers stakeholders to establish direct connections with elected officials and their staff. For a comprehensive list of engagement ideas throughout the week, refer to the promotional materials provided by NCART.

The National Complex Rehab Technology Awareness Week offers an ideal window to engage with congressional members and underscore the significance of complex rehab technology. The collective impact of diverse voices can significantly influence the course of action. Stay attuned to updates and resources provided by NCART,  U.S. Rehab, and other industry organizations throughout this week of focused advocacy. If you're interested in participating, explore NCART's website, where they've prepared templates and additional resources to help you raise awareness for complex rehab technology throughout the week.
