Biden-Harris Administration Announce New Vaccine Mandates

Published in Government Relations on September 09, 2021

Announcements are coming in from CMS and many news sources regarding President Joe Biden’s new vaccine mandates discussed today in his afternoon press conference.

From CMS: “The Biden-Harris Administration will require COVID-19 vaccination of staff within all Medicare and Medicaid-certified facilities (includes Durable Medical Equipment Suppliers) to protect both them and patients from the virus and its more contagious Delta variant. Facilities across the country should make efforts now to get health care staff vaccinated to make sure they are in compliance when the rule takes effect.”

In his speech, the President directed the Labor Department to require all businesses with 100 or more employees ensure their workers are either vaccinated or tested once a week. Companies could face thousands of dollars in fines per employee if they don't comply. See full article from CNN: https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/09/politics/joe-biden-covid-speech/index.html
