VGM Government Relations Attends an Event with Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers

VGM knows that all politics don't take place in D.C., they start in your own back yard. This is why VGM Government Relations works with our members and state associations to create opportunities to interact with elected officials and push for grassroots advocacy at all congressional levels and in all states. John Gallagher, and the rest of the Government team, is always traveling to different states making sure they connect with the people where it matters.

One of these events took place on Friday August 19th, John Gallagher, VGM Government Relations, along with Jim Kissler, Nicole Kissler, and Brent Seward of Norco, Jay Broadbent of Alpine Home Medical and Jay Witter of AAHomecare, met with Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, a ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Rep. McMorris Rodgers has been a great advocate for the DMEPOS industry in recent years and at this meeting she pledged to continue advocating for the HME Industry. 


The discussions at this meeting included the extension of the CARES Act (extension of non-rural blended rates (75-25) to continue on after the public health emergency (PHE) expires). The group also discussed the DMEPOS Relief Act of 2022, HR6641, and Rep. McMorris Rodgers introduced the group to several Representatives who attended the event. Lastly, they discussed key legislators who are slated to be on the Energy and Commerce committee if they win their elections in November. A few of those folks are already friends of the HME industry which could be very good news!
