OPGA is excited to announce that the nomination period for the 2021 O&P Woman of the Year Award is open now through July 9.

The annual award, organized by OPGA, is open to all women who work in the profession. Nominators are encouraged to provide examples of how the nominee has made significant contributions throughout her career to serve her patients, community, business and the O&P profession.

“We’re excited to continue recognizing the women in O&P who create impactful and positive experiences for the patients and communities they serve. We hope to not only highlight existing leaders, but also inspire action and mentorship to grow the O&P architects of tomorrow,” said Todd Eagen, president of OPGA, a division of VGM & Associates. “There are so many deserving candidates out there. We all know a woman who exemplifies everything that is exceptional about the O&P community, so take a moment and nominate someone today.”

In 2020, Kathleen DeLawrence, COO of Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics, was selected from a group of outstanding women as the fourth O&P Woman of the Year.

“If you’ve been fortunate enough to meet Kathleen, you know that she is known for her relentless focus on helping patients, payers, referral sources and others in the O&P community,” said Eagen. “Kathleen is a leader with a vision and will continue to push our profession forward, ultimately helping the patients being served.”

Nominations must be submitted by July 9 and can be made online by visiting the OPGA website at www.vgm.com/oandpwomanoftheyear. The 2021 O&P Woman of the Year Award winner will be selected by a committee of O&P professionals.

The winner of this award will be announced during the AOPA National Assembly. More details on the ceremony will be released in the future.
